ALIVE

Every November for the past 9 years, L.I.V.I.N.G. Ministry has hosted one of the biggest community celebrations in Pittsburgh. We gather together in Allegheny Commons Park on the Northside and praise the name of the Lord. During that day, we invite as many homeless as we can (usually over 350), as many volunteers as we can (usually over 250) and we celebrate the life that we have in Jesus Christ. We have a bunch of different groups leading worship, serve an awesome hot lunch, pray with each other, play board games, and give out warm clothes. The event begins at 10am (Volunteers arrive at 8:30am) and we wrap up by 2:30pm (clean up is finished by 3pm).
To make ALIVE work, we need tons of volunteers (close to 200), lots of winter clothes (around 450 bags), food, musicians, people to lead various stations, prayer support and much more! ALIVE is also a great opportunity to get larger groups involved in serving the homeless, as well as a way to better understand the relational nature of L.I.V.I.N.G. Ministry. Check out our website in the fall to find out more about Alive ’12.
