In September, we will be having our annual car wash fundraiser to help raise the necessary funds to continue to serve the homeless here in Pittsburgh. We’ll be at the Busy Beaver in West Mifflin and the Busy Beaver in Crafton washing cars all day on Saturday, September 11th. Our plan is to run the event as a carwash-a-thon where people sponsor a certain amount for every car that we washed.
We’re trying to get to $80 per car committed before the carwash on September 11th. For that to happen, we …

On Saturday, October 16th, L.I.V.I.N.G. Ministry Board Chair, Josh Hall, will be in Chicago for the Men’s Health Urbanathlon. He ran the 12 mile course last year, but this year they changed it to 9 miles and added more obstacles…like getting up and over a bus! Throughout the course, He will be climbing over marine hurdles, over taxi cabs, and up and down the stairs of Soldier Field (where the Chicago Bears play).

For the last 3 years, the L.I.V.I.N.G. Ministry been hosts of a revolutionary job fair. This job fair is unlike any other job fair around. Instead of just setting up tables and having people show up and meet employers, we hold a ‘closed’ job fair, where all of our prospective employees receive job training skills (budgeting, resume writing, conflict resolution, and interviewing skills). These skills help prepare them so that they are a step ahead of other jobseekers when they speak with employers. This always makes a better transition and …

The food at the Grand Concourse was terrific, and Mike and Katy Gallo were both tremendously blessed by the reception and gifts that were passed their way.

Where could he go to escape it all? The cold blue water below seemed to scream out that he should try it. Jumping off of that bridge would not solve his problems, but only hasten an inevitable meeting with his Maker. Deciding not to jump, George pressed on and eventually found himself residing in Light of Life …

News, Project L.I.F.E. »
Thank you so much for embarking on the amazing journey of Project L.I.F.E. with us these past 9 months. It has been so wonderful to see God’s hand in every aspect of this facet of the ministry. This month, Torran King decided to leave the program. We were a bit shocked that he wanted to leave, especially with only 3 weeks remaining before graduation, but as I was reminded by one of our board members, that it’s never about us saving these guys. We exist to give resources and offer …

Currently, the ministry is looking forward to some exciting changes in the next few months. This summer, we will be looking to expand our staff and add 4 more people! These people will help us expand our capacity so that we can serve more homeless and serve them more faithfully. With that being said, we will need to increase the amount of support that we raise to be able to accommodate that influx of staff.
God has laid it upon our hearts to aggressively pursue new areas of ministry, as …

The ministry is in need of a lawnmower to help groom the yard at both ministry houses. If you have one (electric, gas, or manual), and are willing to donate, please let us know.
We are also in need of a flat rolodex for us to be able to keep track of our various contacts. If you have one that you are willing to pass along our way, great!
We are still in need of fun sized candy bars for Tuesday afternoon trivia. If you have any, please donate!
