Serving a Meal at Pleasant Valley Shelter

We also have opportunity to do hands on ministry where a group would serve a meal at Pleasant Valley Shelter. These groups would either meet own their own and cook the meal, or they could meet at Pleasant Valley Shelter and cook. Then they would serve to the men at Pleasant Valley. There are two different meals that they need served, breakfast and/or dinner. If a group is interested in serving breakfast, they would have breakfast prepared and brought down to the shelter by 7:00am, or they would meet at the shelter at 6:00am and cook it there. They would serve and be finished by 7:30am. If the group wants to serve dinner, they would meet at the shelter at 6:30pm to cook, or bring the food already prepared to the shelter at 8:00pm. Sunday, May 2nd (dinner)
Saturday, May 8th (breakfast)
Saturday, May 22nd (breakfast)
Wednesday, June 2nd (dinner)
Sunday, June 6th (dinner)

For this opportunity, your group would need to purchase and prepare the entire meal (feeding approximately 30 men). For dinner, that would consist of a main entrée, side dish, vegetable, dessert, and drink. For breakfast, just a main entrée and side with drink. All utensils, trays, pots, pans, and dishes are already provided. You just need to make the food. If you want, we can help give some food ideas. Mailings

Periodically, we have mailings that we also do. For these, we meet at Bellefield Church in Oakland and put together our or other letter. This consists of folding, stuffing, and addressing about 650 pieces of mail. Our next mailing will be our midyear appeal letter on Thursday, May 13th at 9:30 AM.
